Join us for a garden catch up on the third Sunday of the month between 10:00 am and 12:00.

Following the working bee we split the harvest between the workers then usually have a cup of tea and small picnic under the paperbark trees nearby, so if you drop by please feel free to bring something to share.

While anyone is welcome to visit or work on the garden at anytime, this working bee is a regular time you can go and find others there too. It’ll be a great chance to see how everything is growing, catch up with our green finger locals, plan for future planting sessions, and… well anything we want really!

Hope to see you there!

If it is raining we usually cancel the event and try to meet the following week.

    HI Penny,

I am looking after my 7-month-old son full-time at the moment and would like to introduce him to gardening!

I live on Walter St, Bondi Junction and have spoken to Waverley council about getting a plot at the community garden behind Celementson Park but at the moment they seem to be full.

In the meantime they suggested I contact you and perhaps get involved with your garden at Waverley Park.

    I hope you can help.

    All the best

Hi, my partner and daughter and I came along yesterday (Sunday 16th Feb) to join in the community gardening and we also went to the bowling club as it was raining but we didn’t find anyone involved with the garden to meet with. Can you let me know when the next meet up is, as we would love to join. Thank you, Felicity

      Dear Felicity,

I’m so sorry we missed you at the February working bee and sorry it has taken so long to reply, I’ve only just logged on to write about March’s working bee and saw your message. We cancelled February’s working bee due to the bad weather and huge apologies that the website pointed you to the bowling club. We tend not to go there anymore. I will change the website to reflect this.

We would absolutely LOVE to see you and your family at a future working bee. We always meet on the third Sunday of the month between 10 and 12 at the garden and generally bring something to share at a picnic afterwards (unless the weather is awful of course!). The way we communicate to people about working bees and cancellations is via our Facebook group: Waverley Park Communal Garden. If you’re on Facebook please join up and if not, keep an eye on the blackboard at the garden for notices. If you’re ever in doubt you can text me 0420 565546 and I’ll let you know if it’s on or not.

      Best wishes
